COLOUR PLAN

When starting the colour scheme for your home, there are various colour combinations that act as guidelines enabling you to plan the interior decor of your home with clarity. There are many potential colour combinations you can choose from.

Complementary, Monochromatic, Analogous and many more. As a general guide, it is advisable not to use more than two primary hues in any given room space.

When colour matching your desired space, avoid mixing too many colours, as this can create a confusing atmosphere.

If you have a centrepiece wall space or feature, it can be enhanced by building compatable colours around this to supplement the feature wall space.

In some areas where dark colours are applied, it can work well by using a lighter hue background.

A particular focus area of colour can set off more subtle areas of a room and bring about new life to the lighter coloured sections of the room.
In areas where there are detailed edges or accented points of focus it is a good idea to keep the surrounding walls white or use subtle tones, so as not to detract attention from the main points of focus.

Areas that are using a cool colour scheme can be slightly warmed by adding mid tone natural colour shades to gently combine with the cool shades.

Some rooms that tend to have darker areas can appear visually small, and so would be best painted in several light colours to expand the visual space and create a relaxing atmosphere.
